Young boy hanging by a cross

By the Cross

Yesterday I visited a very poor neighborhood in Medellín called Regalos de Diós to spend the day with the founder, volunteers and displaced children of a project called Angeles de Medellin (Angels of Medellin). The selfless founder of Angeles de Medellin, Marcos Kaseman, has managed to organize one of the best projects I have seen to date that is helping some of the poorest but most beautiful children and families who were displaced by the war and violence. More on the Angeles of Medellin to come in a blog post. Here is their official website angelesdemedellin.com/

This photo was taken in front of the village’s church. Yes that’s the official church in Regalos de Dios – no bells, whistles and lavish adornments, just four walls, a dilapidated roof and a crude wooden cross to mark the spot.
